ok, it hasn't been quite that long since we last posted pictures. But since I'm terrible about facebook, only a select few individuals have actually seen either of our children in the last two years, and there has been some concern that we are hiding some awful facial disfigurement, or worse that we have moved to some godforsaken land where no one has Wi-Fi. Neither of those things are true, though Mira does have a nasty carpet burn on her chin (footie pajamas + stairs + "I want some water" = thump). Alita turns 5 tomorrow and is taller than many 6-year olds. Mira is 2 1/2, and a more compact bundle of cuteness. They are usually good friends and rarely try to kill each other. Their favorite activities are pretending to be animals, and building things with blocks and legos, often some sort of conveyance or castle for their myriad plastic animals and dinosaurs, which are precariously balanced all over their creations. Erik has also taught Alita to tie knots, which seemed like a good idea until she started making traps for "bad guys" and the Grinch by stringing tripwires of yarn all over the house. Both girls love books, Dinosaur Train and playing doctor with their stuffed animals (don't raise your eyebrows at me, they invent ailments for them and patch them up). They are united in opposition to loud noises, like those evil hand dryers in public restrooms, and leaving the house in a timely fashion.
