Tearing Up The Slopes

Alita had a less than enjoyable experience at ski school up in Whistler this year. I think she was cold and frustrated, and not happy about spending all day with strangers. She would have rather have been building elaborate castles and barns out of blocks for her myriad little plastic animals, inside a warm room where her feet wouldn't unexpectedly fly out from under her. So we've made a few trips up to Snoqualmie, the local ski hill about 45 minutes outside of Seattle, so we can all play in the snow together. Our hope is that she'll realize skiing is actually fun, and it seems to have worked- she took her first ride on the chairlift last weekend, and had such a good time tearing up the green circle slope that she didn't want to leave. The hot chocolate, chicken fingers and french fries had nothing to do with it, I'm sure. Meanwhile, Mira is happy digging holes, building snowmen, rolling around in and eating the snow when she thinks I'm not looking.
